Technical Project Lead Engineer/Electrician

FULL TIME

Job Summary: The Technical Project Lead Engineer/Electrician will be responsible for overseeing electrical installations and projects at customer sites, including multi-set generator packages and single set installations. This role requires flexibility, as it may involve staying away from home for extended periods. The primary objective is to ensure high-quality service, equipment, and complete customer satisfaction.

Liaises with: Depot Operations Supervisors, Service Engineers, Sales Team, Hire Desk Team, Transport Department, Management Team

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install generators, cables, and distribution equipment on customers' sites in compliance with current legislation.

  • Perform on-site testing to relevant British Standards and complete necessary documentation, maintaining records for health and safety (H&S) and auditing purposes.

  • Assist in conducting site surveys to ascertain customer requirements.

  • Engage in watchkeeping duties on-site alongside depot engineers.

  • Provide technical support to sales and service departments as needed.

  • Collaborate with depot facilities and staff to maintain the hire fleet according to company procedures.

  • Prepare and repair cables and distribution equipment in line with company protocols.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and attend breakdowns on-site as required.

  • Assist with depot duties during non-project periods, including equipment preparation, major repairs, and storage tasks.

  • Foster teamwork and cooperation within individual depots and across the Stuart Group of companies.

  • Act in the best interests of Stuart Group companies and avoid actions that could damage the company's reputation.

  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines provided by the company, in line with ISO accreditations.

  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the direct Line Manager or the Management Team.

  • Be prepared to work at different locations as per the operational needs of the business.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Certified Electrician with relevant licenses and certifications.

  • Extensive experience in electrical installations, particularly in generator installations.

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and standards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to work away from home for extended periods.

  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Willingness to undergo additional training and development as required.

 

Work Environment: The role involves working both indoors and outdoors at customer sites, often in challenging conditions. Travel and overnight stays away from home may be required.
