We are currently recruiting for Apprentice Generator Engineers to join our busy teams across the company with depots based in Immingham, St Helens, Worcester and Shropham.

Exciting opportunities have arisen across our depots for this year’s intake of Apprentice Generator Service Engineers to join our full-time teams of engineers. With us you will complete your Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Land-Based Service Engineering. This is a 3-year fully funded government backed apprenticeship program.
What’s Involved?
This includes 3 x 3-week block release modules per year over the 3 years, where you will attend Reaseheath College in Nantwich. Accommodation will be provided where required.
You will be provided with a laptop to complete your college work and at least 1 hour per week within your working week at the depot to update your learning journal.
As part of the learning process, there will be time spent on various customer sites, carrying out installations, routine maintenance and attending breakdowns.
You will work alongside our experienced team of engineers to build on your skills and knowledge. During your apprenticeship you can expect to be involved with:

Carrying out service and repairs on our rental fleet at various sites and at depot.

Preparation of equipment for hire.

Fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical faults on generators, pumps, lighting towers and ancillary equipment.

Identify parts required to facilitate effective repairs.

Load test generators to ensure effectiveness of equipment.

Provide engineer support to depot operations.
At the end of the 3 years, you will gain a Level 3 Advanced Land-Based Service Engineering Technician qualification and successfully become a full time Stuart Power qualified service engineer.
Responsible to: Depot Operations Supervisor/ Depot Foreman.
Liaising with: Depot staff, service engineers, customers and Management Team.
Essential:

Have Maths and English GCSEs Grade 4 or above.

Have a clear interest in, and aptitude for practical engineering.

Demonstrate enthusiasm for the role.

Be able to work well under pressure and take instruction well.

Have a positive mindset and the desire to continually learn new skills.
Desirable:
-
Hold a clean driving license.
The ideal applicant will have an interest in mechanical plant and equipment with a small amount of experience in this field and possess your own basic tool kit.
You will be flexible in nature with a can-do attitude and committed to join a 3-year training program with our apprentices from other locations around the country.
